“Free Play” Workshops
In psychology, the term “Free Play” refers to periods of time where children are allowed to interact with their environment in an unstructured, exploratory way. These workshops, although not free in terms of cost (sorry for any confusion!), are designed to serve a similar function.
Rather than targeting skills to mitigate and navigate disruptive negative emotions – the way that the Foundation and Focus workshops do – the goal of Free Play workshops is the exploration, expansion, and enjoyment of the self and one’s sense of personal possibility. These workshops offer broader theoretical discussions, points for detailed self-reflection or redefinition, and an open invitation to “play in the space” of your own subjective experiences.
Relationship to Self
In my experience as a therapist (and a human), I have found over and over again that the relationship to self is the essential foundation for growth, happiness, and meaningful connection to others – wherever you go, there you are.
This workshop explores a new way of conceptualizing the self as a series of potential inner relationships to be explored an attended to in the same ways we do our external ones.
Speedrunning Self-Care
Sometimes self-care can feel more like an obligation than an indulgence, which often leads to avoidance and potentially self-neglect.
Pulling inspiration from one of my personal interests, this workshop applies the concept of speedrunning a video game as a template for changing the way we go about tending to ourselves.
